Deceptive business practices, Rescue Geeks on 19th, DON'T GO THERE...

Not only did they promise repairs back in Feb. that never got done but even after they finally got me my "new" Dell computer, upon opening it, I found that the serial number has been scratched off and the laptop is NOT new at all! They don't want to talk about it...imagine that. Power cord does not work. They refuse to allow me to pick up 2 hard drives I already paid for. I could go on but you get the point ! As a DJ, this has affected my business drastically. I have had to turn down shows due… Continue

Mosquito Bandito

Laura texted us that Bandito was gigging the filler tonite. So we went down and met him Schlomo King and Chuck Goodwin there. The Mosquito Bandito knocked us dead AGAIN! His new fifty seven pound rig really rocks. He's off to Fargo tomorrow. Happy Trails Skito.

STOLEN GEAR

Hey people, please keep your eyes open for a Peavey CS 800x4 4 channel monitor amp and a Peavey PV12M monitor, both were stolen from my vehicle earlier this week. I still have the power cord and both monitor and amp are marked with green and red electrical tape. If you have any info please contact John @ (406) 223-5451.

New feature that will help your band!

You can now add a link to your montanabands.com page from your personal profile page on MM. Doing this can really help your band turn up in search engine results.

Here's how: Go to your profile page. On the right side of the gray bar that says "Profile Information" click "edit". Now go down to where it says "My MontanaBands.com page" and enter the url for your montanabands.com page (example: www.montanabands.com/my-band/)

NOTE: To get this url you'll have to go to… Continue

Update from the Dollhouse

Okay, let's see...I finished My Little Wonder, Cotton Candy, and Circumstance and uploaded them to MM and also on MySpace. The latter two songs are part of The Visceral Show, my gothic cabaret show, which I hope to have up and running by late 2009/early 2010. Staging the show depends on how soon I can write the music, design the costumes, and get it all rehearsed with the cast. *crosses fingers* Cotton Candy was written for a trio of girls, and Circumstance as a duet.

The first song,… Continue

Danny McIntosh - No Ordinary Angel

Work continues for me on No Ordinary Angel, a CD project that I have been working on for well over a year now with Songwriter Danny McIntosh. We are getting close to wrapping this up. Danny and I have nailed all of his vocal and guitar tracks and have been using on-line collaboration through Kompoz.com, man the internet just opens SO many doors for working with amazing musicians with so much talent. It took me a while getting used to syncing tracks that were recorded on the other side of the… Continue

Hi there y'all.

I'm playing with Chris Cunningham, Richard Riesser and Ashly Holland on Friday at a house concert west of town. Come on out if you want to hear some original music. I'll try my hand at guitar again! It should be entertaining! Call 580-4864 for more details.

Send a pic from your gig!

It's Friday which means many of us are gearing up for a gig or two this weekend. So why not send a pic from your gig?

When MM friend, Terri James blogged from her gig the other night, it reminded us to tell you about a great feature of MM.

Did you know you can send pictures to Montana Musicians from your phone? Just go to "add photos" and then click on "more ways to add photos". It'll give you your very own email address. Program that email address into your phone as a… Continue

One week of MM

Thanks to everyone who has joined Montana Musicians. It's only been a week and there are already 175 musicians signed up. Once the word spreads, I think we will have an amazing resource for musicians to communicate.

I would specially like to thank Levi Kujala and Dustin Tucker for their brains and artistic design.

Without them this site would have never happened.

In a matter of only a couple of days.....

1. I listened to some really cool music from people all over the… Continue

A Lesson learned

A short story about a recent adventure I had buying a guitar.

About a year and a half ago I was in Missoula. I stepped into a music store and played a black Gretsch Duo Jet Electromatic. Since I'd never played one before I enjoyed getting my hands on something new. I really liked the neck and loved the tone. It seemed like a leaner Les Paul. The neck was fabulous, and I really loved the dual cutaway and bigsby bridge. Then I looked at the price tag. It was half the cost of my "pro"… Continue
