Recently, Mt. passed a strigent work comp law. The law now requires musicians as well as others, to have work comp. for any kind of activity where payment is made for working as a musician. They can allow exemptions if the person or band qualifies.…

Nice site you got here Russ. Check out the Montana Rockies Bluegrass Association (MRBA) website at www.mtbluegrass.com. We redid the site in Jan and now it's a blog. So folks can also post gigs and what not there too.

They can allow exemptions if the person or band qualifies. The exemption for two years costs $125. Call the work comp at Helena listed under work comp, regulatins.
Might want to check this out. The fine for not having it done right is $1,000 per occurance for both the musician and business hiring the musician. I don't know how to notify the whole Montana Musicians org. but they need to know this
