I've found that a leather awl works much better than a dull old knife.

I'm still using an old knife to cut my own vinyl records........I will say this, recording fast solos with this method sucks.

I'm currently using a 1/4 to 1/8 plug to record my guitar into my Mac running Garageband. But I plan on getting Pro Tools, POD Studio UX1, and maybe Reason, to record the final version of my album.

Latency is the number one cause of clicks. Having your audio files on the same hard drive as your operating system is another cause of problems related to drop outs and having a slow hard drive that has a low on board memory count also causes…

Hi Kyle. Pro Tools is great for tracking, but Cubase 5 has a far more open sounding buss system for mixing. Either way you go, just have fun and try not to sound like everyone else! IF you want to check us out, take a look at www.recordingedge.com.

My Montana Area
Bozeman Area
Music categories I best fit into...
guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, singer, songwriter
Here's a quick overview about what I play and who with...
I play a weird combination of indie/pop/folk/rock/alternative/shoegaze. It's mostly guitars and vocals, but supplemented with bells, fx, and some percussion. I tend to have somewhat reverb heavy vocals and fx. I play with some of my friends here in Bozeman occasionally (Andy Meehan and Ryan Ross), but am open to playing with others. Haven't really had too much live experience but hope to sometime down the road.

Another music website for me is www.myspace.com/ornithopter
This is the project I would like to be collaborative

Yea, Friday March 13 at the Zebra, Salamanders and Medium Size Monster, should be pretty sweet. Last Friday was a good show, not a huge crowd though. Anyway, I guess I can forgive you for not coming out the other night, it was like 3 degrees out.
Cheers!

You can post parts of songs and have other people record themselves and add to the song. There's an online mixer, too. You can also look at other peoples pages and comment on specific parts of their songs or search by influence. Pretty sweet stuff.
