My name is Kara, I am eighteen years old, and I live in Bozeman, Montana. I play guitar, electric bass, and stand up bass. Guitar is my primary instrument, however, I wouldn't mind playing electric or upright bass upon occasion. Although I listen to a wide variety of music, I am definitely a blues based guitar player and prefer to play in that vein.
Some of my favorite blues guitarists are Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, B.B. King, Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and John Lee Hooker. In my opinion, they are/were some of the most talented and sincere musicians of all time. The emotion conveyed in their music is almost unparalleled.
A few of my favorite rock guitarists are Slash (I like nearly all of his work and he was a huge influence on my playing growing up), Joe Perry (primarily his early Aerosmith stuff), Robby Krieger (his work with the original Doors line-up), Stone Gossard (primarily his work in Green River and Mother Love Bone, I'm not really a Pearl Jam fan), Tony Iommi (particularly his work with the original Black Sabbath line-up and some of the Tony Martin/Dio years material), and Jimmy Page (not my absolute favorite, but I couldn't exclude him from the list).
I am currently looking for musicians, ages 18-25, who are interested in playing in a punk/rock band. We already have a dozen or so original songs and do not want to play cover music. If you are interested, feel free to send me a message!
