- Jay Richwine is a singer/ songwriter based in Miles City, MT. Once a lone musician recording original compositions in his basement studio, Jay has recently assembled a lineup of like-minded punksters to put his songs in front of enthusiastic audiences throughout Montana. Known as j Matter, Jay's band performs high energy shows supercharged with pulse pushing intensity and panache. Influenced heavily by the pop punk movement of the mid 90’s, j Matter is guitar driven rock with biting hooks and clever craftmanship. j Matter carves itself into the hearts of fans with an in-your-face delivery of thought provoking themes shrouded in humor. j Matter’s distinct sound stands apart from the cookie cutter clutter of today’s rock and roll landscape. Keep an eye out for j Matter shows, not to mention Jay’s solo “acoustopunk” performances and other projects.
