"Depending on how many folks are in your band, and how many different venues you play, just have a different band member use their SSN at each place. That way, hopefully each person stays under the IRS limit for reporting. YMMV"

Can anyone give me advice on how to handle taxes for a band? Now that we are playing out, several of the organizations hiring us need a tax ID number, etc so that they can issue a formal payment. Is it best to set up a small LLC or partnership to handle things like this? Any advice would be appreciated
