Here's a quick overview about what I play and who with...
I've been playing Scottish fiddle for just about three years (as of Aug 2011). My "specialty" is strathspeys, but I'm also beginning to focus intensely on jigs and reels for dancing.

I'm very interested in playing in a bar/rock band playing "celtic" music, with a focus on Scottish tunes. Think Irish bar/rock band, but with Scottish tunes instead. Nothing wrong with Irish tunes at all, and I'd certainly be willing to learn Irish tunes if there's a Celtic rock band playing mostly Irish music.

I also want to play for dances, like contra dancing. Piano accompaniment, cello, and rhythm guitar are great for that; I'd love to find someone else interested in playing such music. Let's get together and see what happens.

Sweat Pea set on Saturday

Had two great sets at Sweat Pea with Tom Robison, my fiddle teacher. Played a Shetland tune set, and followed it with a pair of 6/8 pipe marches that were a bit up-tempo. Came off well, anyway.
