Currently my band is practicing in our apartment. We have to use electric drums and can't be too loud. I've heard some people rent storage units and use them as practice spots. Any other ideas?

Those actually work pretty well. I've seen advertisements in the Bozone for heated storage units with electric for bands to practice in. Another thing you could try is asking some venues if they have a back room you can rent for dirt cheap. A lot of them actually do. We did that for a while. Lastly, rent a house instead of an apartment. Hope this helps, Mike
Yup, powered warehouses/storage units are your best bet. Now-a-days they're expensive around here though, so good luck.
I don't even think we have heated storage units in Butte...other than what is being offered at Thunder Alley, but I'm going to leave that subject alone....

Otherwise, I'd say that would be the way to go. I've even heard of bands which a member actually lived in a storage unit so they could always be able to practice and keep an eye on the equipment (Richard Christy, from Death/Iced Earth and is currently on Howard Stern, is who said he had to do this).
Thanks guys. Looks like a storage unit it is. Wish me luck :)
There's a brand new product designed for apartment style silent rehearsing. "Each musician can control their own individual mixes. You’ll hear yourself like never before with amazing new clarity, no more volume wars." Anyway- it's worth checking out. It was just voted one of the best new products at the Summer NAMM show in Nashville. And the fact that you have electric drums is the first step... check it out, and let us know if we can order you one: http://jamhub.com/
Drums are still loud though....
