Montana Musicians

We're a 4pc. band playing swingish / jazzish 40's styleish music (I guess) and are looking for interesting venues. We don't really want to do the regular bar thing, but would like dinner club / wine bar type atmosphere and outdoor festivals in the summer months. Any ideas how to get into that type of circuit? Thanks. The Back Adit Band.

Hi Susan. I'm in a similar situation. www.nineandzen.com . I'm curious have you found any good jazz venues around Bozeman? Have you tried the wine bar at the Baxter?
Actually, no. I live in Libby, our mandolin player lives near Troy, the bass player is in Bonners Ferry (Idaho panhandle) and the guitar player lives in Spokane so we tend to try for gigs in the NW. Haven't even touched Bozeman. Our range thus far has been from Kalispell to Spokane area. We'd have to get some pretty good $$ to go so far (meals, hotels, gas, etc.) I'd love to find something fitting for us anywhere that could cover those costs plus some pocket change....
