Montana Musicians

Looking for Bass, Drums/percussion and vocals to go with my wayward style of playing. Would like to do originals, writing as we go. I want to do music with melody, I love metal but not because it's loud and heavy but because good metal is bad assed!! I have been playing since 1982 and have been in a few cover bands...I don't mind covers, they're cool, but only in small doses. I have been out of the band scene for ages and am ready to dive in with both feet, so serious artists only. If you have original ideas that's awesome. I have in my mind a female vocalist because metal and a woman's voice work very well together, but if there's a guy out there that can sing melodically, bring it on! The music I have on my sight isn't exactly what I have in mind, so don't go on that...besides if I could record all of my originals it would be such a mish-mash that I would have a heluva time catagorizing it. I want to go with new material!

My Influences are a lot of stuff that has nothing musically to do with whom ever they may be, I may sound somewhat like them but that is to be expected. It's all been done kids except for is what is yet to come that hasn't.
So, on that note Carry on Wayward sons and don't be duped by Mass Hypnosis while everyone else is Dancing in the Streets or the Disciples of Hell can Pull the Plug and say 'So What?' while we live the Son Song through our Third Eye living Comfortably Numb, Trapped in Purgatory while they Set the World Afire & the Ants Marching carry off our Dead Embryonic Cells keeping us Paranoid as we Reach Out Somewhere in Time to Learn to Fly in Servitude. I don't want to be The Man in the Box saying Thank You while I burn Beneath the Remains in the Land of Confusion brought on by a Parabola, Falling off the Edge of the World in Peace of Mind, swimming in Oceans in a Walk of Nothingness...I want to put The Grudge into art by letting it all Click with Magic and Mayhem in a Roundabout kinda way, even if it takes 10,000 days. I am not an Extremist, I just want The Real Thing. To be Fearless and let the story be Over Now, time to fill The Big Empty and quit with the Downward spiral to The End of this walk down The Path to Decay.

euh I could play guitar and drums.....
hey Josh, I am looking for a bassist, drummer and vocalist. i do know a female vocalist who's got a killer voice. This music I have in mind isn't anything too flashy and she writes her own songs too. The 'melodic' part of the metal would require an advanced drummer familiar with odd timings and 'tribal' styles, something along the lines of Danney Carey from Tool. I am open to other project ideas, however, so let me know if you have a plan of some sort!
I love odd timings! They're fun :) haha

well I'm going into high school though so I don't know how much I'll be able to practice or do shtuff like that... I write songs too... I have a more prog/shred approach but am open to most stuff as long as it's rockin hahaha that and i'm not a flashy drummer :)

hop this helps haha....
Hey Josh, so can high school age musicians play past 9 in bars? If I remember correctly they're not supposed to be in there...legalities, licensing etc... You sound like a very talented dude tho! I bet if you look around you'd find people of your caliber in a similar age group that are very into the band thing! But that's not to say we can't jam sometime. I don't have much of a place for such things now (Apartment)., but am looking for a 'house' where I can at least turn it up above 1.5! Gotta get those tubes warm!
oh right nope can't hahbahahaha....lol yeah i know what you mean and thanks! yeah i found some kids already so yeah lol ;)
hey. as a fact actually high school students can play in the bars as long as they dont drink. I was recently in jamelution playing bass.
Oh, well that's cool....Must depend on the bar or who's working. I don't care much about a person's age but I wonder how someone 17 would feel playing in a band with an old cronie like me! Well...39's not cronie time yet!
Thanks, ttyl.
haha, the oldest member in jamelution is 49 haha
Need a drummer eh....
Where do you practice, when are you thinking about starting this project up ( meaning when your looking to get together and jam with any involved)?
As of now there's really not an official practice space, albeit a friend of mine who sings has a basement that she says will work. I'd have to say next week sometime, as for any potential jam time, I will be out of town this weekend and am under the weather right now. She's still in the process of getting a P.A. and another rhythm guitarist is on, but hasn't got a set up yet(that's those guys.) Do you have a place to play your drums?
Yeah, I play at my house, in my room (not trying to be funny) it's honestly where I practice.
Only during the day. Not really a suitable "jam spot" though. Did it once with some friends, not enough room for my liking.
After sending you the reply I checked out your page. So you have recording abilities and some nice equipment too! With this new band it would be nice to keep it small, 3-4 people. It gets to be a confusing mess when too many people become involved, we all have complex lives, right? I need to get ahold of the other two I know and see where they are at. She says they have a good jam pad in her basement but I haven't seen it yet. I have a bunch of completely different stuff I'd like to get recorded with a bassist, drummer etc... some time. It's definitely not metal, but I wouldn't know where to categorize any of it either. Some electric, some acoustic with a lot of weird changes and structure. Maybe we can jam out some time after this weekend if you're interested in either venue, or just rock out for a while and see what transpires...Let me know!
